CLASS DESCRIPTION
This class will give you a comprehensive guide to setting up, shooting and editing your best self-tapes to give you a competitive edge in this new era of casting.
In addition to being an audition class, focusing on script analysis, breaking down characters, incorporating the Method and Meisner, and offering you techniques you can use to gain confidence in your own choices when taping on your own, this class will go over the important technical side of things.
From the right equipment, taking into consideration different budgets, maximizing your lighting, improving your sound, choosing the right camera and angles, setting yourself up on different online platforms, backgrounds, exporting your footage, all the way to how to navigate this growing business side of our industry.
Self-taping is a different muscle we now have to train. More and more, Casting Directors are expecting higher quality self-tapes.
CLASS FORMAT
· Technical, Theory & Practice
We will go over equipment, breaking down a scene, performance in terms of levels of expression, Business & Reels.
Through weekly recorded submissions students will be able to fine-tune their Self-Tapes on a technical and artistic level.
· 4x 2 hour Classes
In addition to covering equipment needed for home auditions, students will be critiqued on weekly recorded or live performances, in order to sharpen their instrument, how to break down a script, find their voice and present the best version of themselves to the current Casting for Theatre, Film and TV landscape.
